the next 8 bars will be the same, trust me
I was thinking of turning a lawn into a Pet Semetary so it could be used for something more useful than for grass to grow, but I think I'm gonna hold off on that… at least for now. Next up, I'll have to join some sort of Ka-Tet (or Ka-Techno?) and make our way towards the Dark Tower of the technosnobs before we disassemble (like Johnny 5) their establishment. I'm serious about that, but semi-jesting about this:?and then we'll roll it out into a major campaign with Ishkur's Dancers & Drugees rules. Still 1st edition, I reckon. Stickin' it to the man! Yeah! ;)
?
Speaking of technosnobs, I was talking about classical music snobs today. So yeah, future and past. In this thread on TranceAddict, YaleTrance (who I first heard the term "McTrance" from, LOL — but hey, don't look at me, I crave Big Macs) shared some of his insights concerning the future of electronic music with the community. I learned something new today, so I'm thankful for that. Although I gotta put the thumb up for my man Yanni… ha ha ha. There's another good thread here about trance music and religion. One of those ongoing things that we need to talk about but can't be "solved" like a problem.

Donald Trump's The Apprentice 2 is gearing up, and I am following the news about it fervently. Ah, yes, obsessions. Funnily enough, I had been wondering for awhile if Moby and Donald Trump ever met, and I just read a recent Moby journal?entry?which answers that. One more mystery of life answered. I'm not as anti-Bush as Moby since I'm not terribly political but Trump's bold words on the matter resonate with me. I don't need to quote them here as they're so ubituitous (just like The Donald). Oh, I also joined Moby's boards… wow, just got a new PM, and a nice one too. Going to read it now!
??
(Still frustrated here I haven't been able to return to work, really. Ah well… plenty of other things that keep me busy in the meantime… always something to do. *in a Forrest Gump voice* My Mamas say if you got nothin' t'do, then your prolly dead. Better to be a workin' living, my Mamas tell me.)

if i had a kitten
if i had a kitten, i'd love?her lots.
i'd name her Avril (after "avril lavigne"), or maybe Avreee because kats like names that end with "ee".
i'd feed her fish, although fish is not a natural food for most cats to hunt for.
i'd snuggle up with?her and warm?her in blankets.
i'd make her do tricks, and she'd make me do tricks.
i'd read stories to her, like Stephen King's?The Dark Half (but not Pet Sematary!),
and we would watch Shrek 2 together. Puss-In-Boots (voiced by Antonio Bandaras) is a great role model.
maybe we'd watch some Stargate SG-1?too. but apart from Narim's cat, there aren't a lot on that show.
we'd make cat faces, like ^_^ and >=@=<
apparently grown cats don't REALLY drink milk. this shocked me.
maybe Avreee would like to play music. or try to dj. we'd be quite a duo.
to adopt an animal and give her a loving home?. . . means?so much to me!
*sighs*
my cat dreams may be far away, but then again, they may be nearer than i think.
we'd have lots of happy memories together.
but then… someday… i would have to say goodbye :(
and i would remember the many happy memories we had together,
cherishing each and every precious moment.
and someday, in Heaven, i will see Avreee again?
the sad death of ryan
I just read this over at the [i:Vibes] site before going to bed?and it's really sad. When he was alive, Ryan ran the pretty spiffy site called SonicControl.com. I was a regular visitor to the site, and I had just emailed him a few weeks ago to cheer him on for his interview with Gabriel & Dresden, which I really enjoyed. He emailed me back with warm words. When I read this news about a "Ryan", I didn't think it was him until I read on and it was all made too soberingly clear. His death at a young age (24!?!) is a shock and I wish his fam all the best in these dark times.
?
Death is unfortunately a part of… life… as eerie as that sounds, and when it comes so suddenly and in the "blink of an eye", those can be the most painful moments in the lives of loved ones who are still on Earth. I was reading some very tragic pet loss stories lately and they made me very sad. I also was reading up on grieving after you lose a parent. Of course, my Dad died almost a year ago (at this time during last year he was in the hospital, unable to really walk or anything). I think that still haunts me deeply and fuels my obsession with the macabre at present, so I may find some peace in the unease and unrest I feel. I'm a really happy guy most of the time, but even I have to deal with the demons in me . . . which usually end up being manifested through music.
?
It's hard but you gotta be progressive. I mean, what else is there to live for after you've accepted that someone who used to sit in that chair in front of you is no longer coming back to work on his income tax returns? I had a dream during a mid-day nap about "family movie night" when I was a kid. We were watching an alternate version of Kill Bill 2 for some reason.?My Dad never related much to the movies or cared for them except for moments like Keystone Kops-type humor (and yeah, he was a big fan of Judge Judy), but he sat and watched nonetheless?and not having his presence around just jars me. What would Dad say about Donald Trump's The Apprentice? He looked up to The Donald before I ever did and it might have been one of those rare shows we could both sit down and get something out of. I'll never know now. Surreal.

I am coming to better terms with my identity as Torley Wong. ALTERNATIVELY, TORLEY CHONG.?:-)

A Very Torley Demo Reel
Got something new up — just an easy-access Demo Reel showcasing the melodies I enjoy making, the harmonies I enjoy hurting, and the beats that make clubbers exclaim: "Oooh, is that a watermelon dancing with a kitty cat?"

If you're new to the autistic world of Torley, this is ideal for you! Get hooked and have some fun listening to samples of my diverse variety of techno tunes, and then some! Uptempo, some slow jams, melodic and more rhythmic bits, arcing strings and twiddly synth riffs… from progressively regressive (progreg) to?ambient to hip-hop to?rock-influenced techy goodness,?there's a lot in here!
