22 questions answered in "Behind the Watermelon: an Interview"

2008-03-19

I treat ideas like Tribbles, and I suggested to my beloved wife Jennifer that she come up with questions to ask me if I was being interviewed. (Y'know, if I have to practice for public speaking!) She did just that, and I thought it was too fun to keep offline, so it's made the Internets:

Contained within — text summary for your convenience:

  • "When was the first time you used Photoshop?"
    • "Do you recall your first graphic editor?"
    • "Do you have any of those (early) works saved someplace for posterity?"
    • "Of all the graphic editors, which would you say is your favorite?"
    • "Did you train formally in graphic design?"
  • "How many textures have you made?"
    • "Where can people get your textures?
  • "What is your favorite season?"
  • "Is pink & green your favorite color?"
  • "Are you following the election this year?"
    • "Are you interested in politics?"
    • "Are you currently running for any political office?"
    • "Would you have an interest in running for political office?"
  • "What steps should people take to ensure that they don't have data loss?"
  • "What makes a 'griefer' a griefer?"
    • "There used to be a lot of grid attacks… what changed?"
    • "Are you a secret griefer, Torley?"
  • "You give your music away for free. Why do you do that?"
  • "Do you want to write a book?"
  • "When they make a movie about your life, who will play you… ?"
  • "When does your long-awaited Torley products line launch?"
  • "Do you have any pets?"

And I MUST ABSOLUTELY DISCLAIM these are my views alone. There's no officiality to this, just friendliness. Treat it as entertainment, not law. (And if you have a problem with being friendly, that's a whole 'nother bag o' melons…)

Can you twist your wrists 360 degrees on video?
What do you like better, the TG or the MG?

What was your childhood like?
If you made a movie (no budget limits, total creative control) what would it be?
What's next for Torley?

Now that I've watched/listened.
A photobook of super wicked awesome high quality snapshots, in RL.
Every torley snapshot in SL, ever.
That's a buy for sure. $.=.$

Hello Torley, and thanks for the neat interview type video! I have two questions and one kinda silly request. ^^

When is your birthday?
What do you think of Super Smash Bros. Brawl?
And finally, could you do a quick impression of Walton Simons on video? XD
I just think that'd be awesome to see! Heheheh, take care! =)

I enjoyed your video, and also realy want to thank you for your recent stepping up of SL information videos. The transparencies one with the leek is really going to help me do windows built into wall textures. Oh, on a last note, I really like cats, but I don't think that a cat would get on with the turkeys that stroll outside your house. Unless turkeys are too big and noisey for cats to want to make their move!

Thanks for your replies! I plan to answer some of them soon…

@Chilko: Definitely wanna show the 360-wrist-rotate demo. Stay tuned.

@Amphithetre: Aw! I wonder if there's a way to take EVERY snapshot I've uploaded to Flickr and make it into a giant mosaic. I haven't found an easy way to do that thus far — backing up my whole Flickr archive to local hard drive hasn't been easy.

@Nexii: Haha, well, I took a shave + shower, then came back to film more. :D

@Val: LOL, I'll definitely answer #2 and #3. Those are great.

@Androgyne: You're welcome! I'm ramping up creating video tutorials because there's demand for them and I get so much nice feedback, INCLUDING YOURS, so I'm glad you let me know, it's encouraging! I enjoy making things easier for you…
