Posted on: January 3, 2006So, I find myself in 2006 AD. Time had to be marked some way. I've been taking it (relatively) easy lately, sorting things out. I figure there are gonna be things that I haven't seen yet, catching up to me. And that's good because I'll just fold them in a handbasket and off I go… !
Two of my favorite things, geckos eating watermelon.
I use Firefox 1.5 as my primary browser—it's good at what it does, and even better at what it doesn't. My preferred theme is Charamel by lucx, whose site has seen some jarring updates over time (including one instance in which it appeared to vandalized by graffiti). But as it stands, here and now, it's a wonderful mess of iconography. WORK OF ART! Altho, you may have a difficult time finding the download link.
Before the end of 2005 AD, I was starting to aggregate a very crowded, throw-everything-in-the-pot methodology. I don't have a formal resolution, but I can see myself being more minimal and trim. At least for the first few months. Part of what strikes me so coherently is I'll go back on my blog, and notice different "phases", and how it all adds up.
Max Case is really proficient at the clean lines, he made me aware of this ace Linden Scripting Language tutorial. Text, and pictures—pictures are great, I'm convinced we have a lot of visual learners that aren't being catered to well enuff! It's by Michael Grobe, whose SL name I don't know. Oy… what timing, inworld, Angelica Ludovico just asked me if I know scripting. Gonna send this link to her.
Avatar craftscreature Jakkal Dingo has posted about his new Avatar Development Journal. It's rare in SL that the process of actually going through and making an av from the first few prims on upwards—unless you continually catch a builder in the act in a sandbox or something—so this is quite a read towards the curious. Jakkal's style, if I were to generalize horribly, is less cartoony than some furries but still playful. First time I became acquainted with his work was through his werewolf.
Kala Bijoux has gone ahead and customized the "Fran Rocks" Random Rock Maker to her own whims, so that she now has broken wallesque pieces on her land. Smashing!
