Admin Drop Menus and Recent Comments Widget added

Posted on: November 6, 2006

I've been having so much fun indulging in WordPress plugins — I've added a couple more:

  • Admin Drop Menus - KILLER. A MUST-HAVE. It adds dropdown-style menus like any common application to WordPress, instead of that weird two-level thing that needs so many freakin' extra clicks! End result? Soooo much easier to get to where you need to go in the WP Admin area. Free your finger and your blogging excellence will follow.
  • Recent Comments Widget - I've actually been rotating several of these, so don't be confused by the name. I think I'm finally happy with this one, by Jared Bangs and derived from Scott Reilly. What's special is shows post titles along with comments, giving them more context.

What else? More kewl widgets to make my left sidebar more even with my right one, but not totally clutter things up. Looks so lopsided. :p

I've also removed my Tag Cloud for the time being because it wasn't updating, and its links were pointing to my old website. I wonder if there's a good plugin for WordPress that reads the full contents of my blog and generates keywords based on frequency, instead of requiring me to manually input tags with each post (I already have Categories and can't see the point in clogging the works up).
