Anatomy of a Blog Move - Part V
Posted on: October 29, 2006This is my first blog host from Zoho Writer —> my new WordPress blog. YAYZERAMA!
I like Zoho a lot because it is a free, fast, and fun web word processor, and doesn't have some of the same quirky annoyances that Google Writely Docs exhibited in Firefox while I was using it. For example, hyperlinking a bold phrase will cause it to lose its formatting. Yuck. (I did send my bug reports several months ago.)
Plus, Arvind rules *points at the Zoho Writer company blog*.
And they use WordPress too. I'm in good company.
I've readded my experimental tag cloud to the left sidebar — let's see how it holds up. I also did some more subtle polishing of my layout, and I'm severely pleased with today's results.
Next up may be musing for a way to showcase my Second Life snapshots on here.

Thanx to WebShots Pro for the thumbnail!
Another big plus of my new home: just like secondlife.com, if you type in the deprecated "www." before the "torley.com", it automatically gets stripped out. Keeps it simple.
I'm always inspired traveling the blogosphere, or in the case of Second Life: the SLogosphere, and viewing not only the content, but how it's presented. It's really like getting dressed for the prom. You want to look your best, and that says a lot about who you are.
Especially with blogs being so easy-access nowadays, you can start publishing in minutes and then tweak a generic template as you go along. Remember, my blog's based on the Tiga theme, so you can clearly see while I've stayed true to its roots, I've taken it that much farther within the space of a few days. I am by no means an expert graphic designer — just passionate about what I do and happy to be sharing it with you!

Blog-by-email + tweak + "Send Postcard" = your own personal Snapzilla.
