It's been close to a new week in my new trappings @ DreamHost, and I continue to be pleased. If not, they have a 97-day money-back guarantee, so that gives me an ample berth to switch should it come to that — I hope it won't!
Today, I added a Photostream to my right sidebar: essentially porting over the Flickr Zeitgeist and Snapzilla Live Panel modules from my old blog. They're a lot of fun because the colorful imagery spices my already-colorful blog up even more. I did tweak: the Flickr code is more color-coordinated, and the Snapzilla stuff now shows random images out of the 5,000 I've taken.
It's amazing how perspective changes over time, and how a good sleep refreshes what may have been a troubling situation. I know I've said it before. Just days ago, I felt like I was drowning in a sea of WordPress plugins, but today, I'm well-acquainted with many of the best. Something to do with knowledge absorption, I guess: as a child, I remember diving into massive swathes of classical music manuscripts, and later emerging unscathed. But during the process of learning, it was like an orchestra of little praying mantises kickboxing my head.
It's unfortunate TinyMCE is a really icky blog editor for me: it feels unresponsive, it has weird formatting issues — I can't put more than one line break, even after editing the HTML — and even tho I did a hack to remove the preview pane in the WordPress editor to shave off bandwidth and save some time, it still feels slow. So here I am, typing this in Google Docs and searching for a replacement editor. I'm also hoping the Zoho Writer speed issues will be resolved.
A fun way to see "wallpaper strips" of what your site looks like in different browsers is via Browsershots. I got screenshots of TORLEY.COM taken.

Torley, you know that one option would be for you to use the Google Docs system…there is a blog connection within it that supports wordpress. You could stay in Google Docs and upload from there.
@Zarithi: Oh how I wish! The Google Docs publish-to-WordPress is broken! All the same, thank you for suggesting.
@Torley: Disable the rich editing features Tiny MCE provides and code the posts by hand
I like my WYSIWYGesque. I don't even use TinyMCE tho, I have the plaintext editor (showing tags) here, and use Zoho Writer. =)
