Wonderful, wonderful, o glorious news… tracking back to my Jadey's blog?reveals that the total tally of Relay For Life was at least $5,411 (in US dollars), well-meeting the projected goal and going above and beyond. More happy?news on SNOOPYbrown's blog.?So that is wikkid fresh. I'm just thrilled to see so many in the community come together as I came back, it couldn't have been more perfect timing. Beyond this, I hope it will be a launchboard and an inspiration to what can be done, and someday, good causes may be raising $50,000 out of a gridwide series of events launch. We, the Residents of SL, are united in our differences.

Furthermore, I hope it will also provide confidence for others who have been nervous to see what can happen in an online environment in terms of philanthropy and helping one another and all that good stuff, opposed to?fraudulent activity and selfish greed. Time to eat away at that fear and replace it with?HOPE! Second Life stands out this way and it's part of why I'm back. I don't quite understand money. I do understand smiling faces and good health.

An additional lateral plus I'd like to mention is that in doing this, there was sort of a shortwave SL blogosphere. I've seen blips a few times before with community events, but when the same significant impact is mentioned on several SL-related blogs, that's a promising sign of bigger and better things to come!
