Even digital can deteriorate. I was flipping through past blog entries?specifically, from last year, around this time. I had a look at this one, written exactly one year ago. It looks like most of the image links have broken. I hope this is temporary and they really haven't vanished. I will have to be more conscious of stemming disintegrating data, taking preventative measures to protect records of what's happened to me.

Something struck me when visiting that page: Jade Lily's image is the only one that works. It appears to have been uploaded to a different ImageShack server (img25 vs. img85 for the rest). Which must have happened against the odds, because I didn't have a say in how it was done?uploading pic after pic?but now in retrospect, it makes sense.

I'd like to recognize that today is my Jadey's 2nd 2nd Life birthday.

I've said a lot about her; maybe now's a time when I just close my eyes and hope she's having fun at SLCC. Already, I've heard from other friends who've met her?him offline?and I hope one day I get to do the same thing too. She really came into my Second Life at a time when I was prematurely thinking of leaving. It's hard to say what would have been different, exactly?"What if?"?but I do know I would hardly be as happy, having found such growth. And we've both grown; the last months have been filled with challenges, and?
