Random Person made a hilarious avatar, Super Avatario, that would be fair to describe as the Bizarro equivalent of Mario (you know, Luigi's brother). With googly flexiprim eyes and an upside-down "WTF?" on his cel-shaded red cap, he's not to be confused with Wario, yet, I suspect, deserves his own unique place in the game canon.
Upon wearing him and becoming "Torio", I had to get myself to the 8-Bit Area — click here to teleport — and immediately start jumping. With classic sound effects and even a fun cover of the Mario theme in the background, it was like my childhood memories sprung forth from a new mother's loins… in 3D!
Watch the video above. And if you're on a feed reader, you'll need to click through to see it.
Here are some piccies:
Afterward, Random and I TPed to the Old School Gaming Zone, where a giant NES beckoned and I set him on fire. Since another video will really get the point across — watch in full screen to see details:
Yes, he also made a Monopoly Man avatar, which I'm intent on recoloring to become the Melonopoly Man.
Good times!

Loveably stylized, and I rarely even play Mario. @5:23, was that some kind of double-jump? Interesting…
But @ 3:13, there's that camera indecision glitch again.

*has a headache after bashing all those bricks*
@Al: Oh, it was just using the friction of the surface I was facing… and jumping again. Nothing really special there, but it's kind of obscure.
Yeah, @ 3:13 that BUGS me. I call it "the awkward in and out" and am glad you pointed this out, because it can be hard to describe — but the video does not lie! <.<

Hi, hi! A friend just directed me to this page. Glad you liked the area. It's been there in Leiter there since 2006, with no flight (as a fully functional mario land is still intended after all this time), so sorry if that came unexpectedly… When we relocate to a better sim, i'll complete the map and maybe make it more fun? But yes… We have a script that allows a 1 meter higher jump, So making that jump before the waterfall used to be alot easier. Since Havok four, it's not been right, but changing it's not been a priority, as i wach countless make it, so my apologies… i'll stop yapping though, have a good one :3

Hey Torley, Jei just showed me your video on our place. I'm glad you liked it. ^-^ You should have touched the flag pole or bounced on the springs. They work as well. There are also some multi coin bricks hidden through out the land.

@Jei: I'm surprised it's been there that long and I didn't know earlier, but all too happy to have discovered it. Thanks for sharing, I briefly saw you as a Tanooki as I visited!
@Mai: On my next visit, I'll have to. I appreciate all the interactive elements, they're among the most accurate retrogaming stuffs I've seen in SL and they really make me smile!
