Flashback… Macs vs. PCs…

2004-09-11

Well, this one has certainly been in my computer consciousness for as long as… I've been using computers. Or almost. More accurately, my first Mac was a Quadra 660AV (well, technically a Centris, and then I had to return that because it was defective — later, the product was renamed). It was a good computer while it lasted for 4-5 years. I used to debate a lot in the "System Wars of OS Supremacy". Seems so silly now but that's really what I did back then.

…why are Apple still sticking with their crippled one-buttoned mice? It's ridiculous. HELLO, CONTEXTUAL MENUS? Not to mention comfy side buttons for Back and Forth navigation? Absurd poppycock. This is either an oversight or something grossly negligent. You'll have to shell out a few bucks to get a more functional mouse from Logitech or *gasp* Microsoft.
Life goes on. I like both. Being able to look at the smorgasbord of existance and pick and choose is an exhilarating experience, yaknow. If you can do more, then all the power to ya. I don't see what's so particularly cool about being snobbish and confining, limiting yourself artificially via imploding psychology. In fact, it downright sucks. :(

Whether you choose PC or Mac, Pepsi or Coke, Jessica or Britney or Christina (!), techno or electronica or electronic dance music (?!?), or even Donald Trump or Mark Cuban, the world's a big place. There's enough pain and suffering as it stands, and hey, to be able to participate in the interchange of consumer goods is a wonderful thing.
