Flickr Set Manager auto-generates useful sets

Posted on: June 7, 2008

Did you know there's a web tool that can take your X most interesting Flickr photos and make a set of them, right inside your account? (You need to grant it permission). It's called Flickr Set Manager — not exactly a specific name for the functions it performs. It can also come up with random batches of stuff, narrow down by tags, and other criteria.

I had no idea you could do this until I spotted it on Miyaoka Hitchcock's photostream. Apparently, it can also auto-refresh the generated sets about once a day. It's very plain and simple to setup. Here's some of my "100 Most Interesting":

Great Info, I am brand new to Flickr and am anxious to learn anything and everything I can… seems your blog topics are so in tuned with my activities.. its a lot like did the egg or chicken come first? Cheers, Mimzy

Been using this for a while, I also use it for my least interesting photos which is quite fun.. :)

  3. Torley Says:

@Mimzy: I'm just happy you found me.

@Lady: Maybe it's a good way to get those "least interesting" elevated!

Neat! Torley, may I ask how you got those thumbnails into your post? I hope you didn't add them one by one. I'm looking for an easy way to add a bunch of flickr photos to my SL blog. Flick only lets you do one at a time with their blog feature. Maybe you know of some wizardry that I don't?

  5. Torley Says:

@Azaiya: Sorry I didn't reply earlier. I did it by selecting, and copying and pasting all those thumbnails from a set page. Easy to do in Firefox 3 and paste them into Windows Live Writer.

It was just old-fashioned select copy-and-paste!
