Getting My Groove Back
Posted on: November 26, 2005
I'm opening this entry writing about Stella Costello, who's not only an extraordinary artist, but who sounds very sweet and warm too. I have been following her work for some time now, observing it in my frequent haunt of the sandboxes and drawing nearer, until such time that I visited "Stella…" @ Cortina (48, 13).
Amazed in the renderflesh I am. Insofar as a "build" goes, I could point to the technicality of how many individual elements are composited to form a unanimous whole, or I could rant about the tasty usage of shiny AND textures at the same time (a Torley favorite) and the lovely splashes of colored auras amongst the monochrome checkerboards of the floor, spiral staircase ascending like a synaptic vine to where more wonders await… AHHH!
My writing has turned on herself. And to the right you may observe an eerie picture of the artist's reflection, waiting for her to return. (See her profile to see a completion of the form.) Stella and I talked about reflections, how we find ourselves in each other here. She said some awesometastic, really quotable things, but I haven't asked her for permission yet, so I won't. You'll just have to imagine, as I continue to do…
I wish I was more of a content creator in the primsense. A wish is different than a hope in that with the latter, you expect it to come true. So maybe I do hope. Invariably, with many colors of the spectrum, I dream. I see things from within my dreams that've been brought to life?within Second Life?by another. Someone special who knows how to knit mittens out of the oneirosphere and deliver them ahead of time, perfectly packaged.
I'm closing this entry writing about Stella, both the name of a beautiful person and a beautiful place.
