This was inspired by Heroes, my new gladdiction. Such an awesome show, and the fan-run wiki is tremendously engaging. While not an eclipse, I wanted to capture the contrast between sun and a dark pallor 'cross the rest of the world.
To go from this:
and achieve a striking look was simple. While this isn't complete, to give you an idea: I used the "Improve your photography with classical art" tutorial, choosing a suitable reference image with moody tones, and played around with the sliders.
virtualPhotographer added a dash of grain, and to give the soft, dreamy look, I applied Filter Forge's BloomMonster.

Ooh, I love that bridge. Not only because I was at the opening too, with Hermia & Michael Linden, also because it is an extension of Nova Albion, which is one of the cooler places in SL. And also because a bridge symbolizes many things. It links two parts together, so you an say, it links SL past and SL future together. And right now, we're on that bridge, and it may be hard, going up the slope. But we know we're making progress and some day we'll be on the other side.

@Daedalus: I missed the opening and found out about this in retrospect; but it's nice that our centers o' heritage like Nova Albion haven't been forgotten. Symbolic value is always nice, "building bridges" is such a ripe metaphor!
