It would have been a brilliant collaboration…

Too bad this looks like it was just an April Fool's joke. I read about a forthcoming collaboration album between Enya and Slipknot and then scoured the WWW to look for it.

Sadly, not true! I can't find any canonical sources elsewhere. But meh, in a world where Eminem and Dido can work together—what are some similar seemingly "opposites attract" collabs that come to mind?—who's to say this is such a stretch?

If I was still actively involved in music, these would be some of my other "dream teams":

  • Ryeland Allison and Andy Page, drum doctors working on a track together (not just a remix)

  • Yanni and Vangelis (both Greek, both magical with the whole "serene sounds")

  • mid-90s Bjork and Beck—B&B has a nice ring to it too; their current iterations have diverged too far

  • Squarepusher, Venetian Snares, and The Flashbulb… and then after they did this, they'd have to not just go out for sushi, but m-mm-m-ma'aa/a/a*aa@mmkmkm-+kMmmmake it

That felt good. I've wanted to say it for a long time!
