I ran into some problems with my watermelon tag cloud (see left). I noticed it wasn't updating to take into account my newer entries. Ended up wrangling and wasting time, 'cuz for some reason, ZoomClouds wouldn't let me delete an older cloud and start over. I ended up hanging on a white loading screen, and sent another email to their tech support today after doing so earlier and not receiving a reply.

I also there's no way to blank a cloud's tags effectively without deleting it. You can set "Days worth" that it shows, but that's it. I was initially overjoyed but am not happy with this turn of events: I'm looking for alternatives in case this doesn't work out. But I hope I don't have to, because I really like the easy process of setup and design.

I salute Karsten Rutledge for making a Mount G'al hat! The original, situated in Mahulu and made by Ben Linden, is one of those rare "natural" phenomena made by a Linden. Karsten's been making the Mahulu Infohub, and as part of my current "Cyber Witch" look, I enjoy telling observers to touch my hat and watch it erupt with watermelony particles.

The Mahulu Infohub itself is in a nice spot near the edge of the mount, with customized banners in theme with the bucolic decorum. There's a small (but by no means diminutive) hot air balloon perched atop, with Mini G'al—bigger than the hat, smaller than the full thing—resting in the center of the ground floor, accompanied by that "national" animal of SL, the hippo. The slanted roofs almost give way to a Japanese feel, but truer than that, I feel this is reflective of our own unique culture within SL.

Maybe someday again, I'd like to raise fish. I long tho of koi as "mega goldfish". I used to watch aquariums for hours on end, seeing all the different bodies on those little swimmers. I especially like the ones with the bulgy eyes. The other day, Khashai Steinbeck happened to show me a certain fishy avatar made by milki Unknown. When wearing this av and typing, the front fins will wiggle.

Thinking of the herd behavior of animals, if it was more convenient to morph through a chain of avatars, it would be quite something to see: a school of Resis-as-fish, coming up to the shore and growing legs, and then evolving into the classic grays from many sci-fi movies. Maybe then pegasus wings would sprout as onlookers gape—this is wrongly right on so many levels. :-)

Finishing act: turn into flower.

SignpostMarv Martin made this for me. I think it works on an aesthetic level, because I've always wanted to see my name spelled out in watermelony bubble cell levels. I wish they could puff a little restlessly, as cartoon clouds tend to do. First time I rezzed this… whoa.

This looks like a good idea. Think it'll last? As I wrote on the accompanying Snapzilla caption:

In this sandbox, while you build, you're supposed to be able to click on this sign and get upload money. I just clicked and it gave me L$10. Looks like you can do this every hour. I wonder how long until the word is out? And will it spur creativity? I certainly hope money obtained from this isn't squandered on wasteful pursuits!

On our road to incompetent AI which makes us feel all warm 'n' fuzzy inside is this "Rosie the Robot" by Arjan Templar. As a beta, it was unable to serve me. I was amused nonetheless.

The structure Rosie inhabits reminds me of Gladiator crossed with "Iron Chef". There's a lot of food to go around.

Something I should distinguish: Torse is not the same as Torse Jr.. They are related: Father and Son, respectively. Maybe someday you'll see a photo of both of them together. Otherwise, they follow the same chevalesque parental path as the humanoid Torley Sr. and Jr..
