Mastering tutorial for dance music by Simon V
I haven’t seen many mastering tuts that stand out — I enjoyed Simon’s a lot, because not only does he share his plugin chain, he explains which role each one has in the final output, with samples to illustrate the effect each step has. The final mastered track has a lot of drum punch and spacious vox, built around a catchy chord progress in the bass. All of it sparkles because it’s been put through this indistinguishably magical process.
Very inspiring, both if you know what mastering is and are looking for inspiration, and if you’re new to audio engineering and wonder why it matters.
