Tay Zonday's a hero of mine — it takes a lot of heart and courage and/or being oblivious to societal norms to post videos of yourself on the Internet… singing. What is so outrageous about that, I might ask? Nothing, but strikingly unique singers have long captured the attention of the public. I was sorta late to the "Chocolate Rain" meme, and by this time it had over 5 million views and many parodies, one of them being an ingenious takeoff of Mega Man.

I was particularly tickled to see gestures based on the song in Second Life — the first I found was Tesla Miles, and Kit Maitland kindly sent me another's. Hearing the same loop over and over has earwormed itself deep within me…

In my head over the last couple of weeks, the idea kept brewing as I lay on my back before sleeping: if Tay Zonday has the elemental chocolate rain, what do I have? And then I remembered the queer phenomena of watermelon snow, and spontaneously decided that it'd be this weekend's relaxation project (one of them, anyway).

Enough gab, here it is, I hope the sheer silliness gives you the happies!

And these are the lyrics:

MELON SNOW
A new beginning, a Second Life
MELON SNOW
Passionate place to find a wifeeee

MELON SNOW
Grass jelly drink soothes the soul
MELON SNOW
Have it with sashimi and sushi rolls

MELON SNOW
Sculpted funky cute hats are in style
MELON SNOW
Here's my shoutout to Tesla Miles

MELON SNOW
Music's good for who you know
MELON SNOW
Now it's time for the piano solo

*break*

MELON SNOW
Melody sounds like Oldfield's Tubular Bells
MELON SNOW
Counterpoint adds much value well

MELON SNOW
Time travel gives you much to gain
MELON SNOW
Be productive or you're much to blame

MELON SNOW
I am hypnotized by this slice
MELON SNOW
Now I will have a quick bite

MELON SNOW
Tastes delicious with ????
MELON SNOW
That is all I will sing for now
