Moonlight Shadow

Sometimes these moments are the best, when I just lie back in my chair and let the words flow lucidly. It's not automatic writing, but it's not shaped by the rigors of any previous unpleasant experiences either. Just self-expression, simple and beautiful — and I don't think I'm the only one who's felt this way blogging at odd hours. I've come to notice things.

One of them is that Hamlet Linden (ne James Wagner Au) posts his New World Notes stories at late times too. This isn't surprising, since I've hung out with him at 4 AM before. But it is an observation nonetheless: 12:12 AM, 12:10 AM, 11:30 PM, 12:07 AM, 12:05 AM, 12:04 AM, 12:04 AM. Looks like we have ourselves a midnight writer here. This isn't the whole story, you'll see, as if you scroll back, to 3:25 PM,?you'll notice he has all sorts of publishing times — a whole range. (The 12:12 in particular makes me think of the Korg 1212 I/O, an old soundcard of mine.)

I used to have a strange attraction to poodle skirts. Along with the question "Why a poodle?" came other realizations like wondering why New Order and the Beach Boys have never collaborated. And I longed for an 80s-50s hybrid for so long. This dream, like so many others, has come true in Second Life. Thanks to Kimberly Casanova, who recently fashioned such a garment, and graciously allowed me to Torleyize it. It's not an unusual custom to refer to myself in the third-person, given who I am. I know what it's like. I look for a better watermelony sword to couple with it — the neon poodle skirt — however.

The continuing yarn of why there is a mouse in my house continues to astound confound me. Today, Mr. Jangles (how I wish I had a pic) came closer. During my supper meal, he almost climbed into my bowl, but quickly darted down as I bent. This, I suspect, was as much his (or her?) curiosity as it was mine. Later into the night, I heard banging coming from within the fireplace. I went to open it — however, Miss Jangles was no longer there (if she ever was). And that's what I'll call her now, Miss Jangles. Maybe in time, we will gain a sense of rapport, and she will eat freely from my hand. Until then, it's another mystery in the universe.

Have you seen Revenge of the Sith yet? I have not. I am likely going to wait for the DVD at this rate, as peculiar as it sounds, 'cuz it's my understanding that there were some insightful scenes that were snipped from the "final" theatrical cut primarily focusing on character development. That means a lot to me. I have read a number of Star Wars forums and have seen the same debates come up. It is redundant to me. RRL = Really Redundant Loop (and I keep seeing that train). What is uplifting in SL, however, is that Zebulon Starseeker has begun a community?lightsaber exhibition of sorts, starting with this model he created himself, and he is quite a fine builder. More info here, and the Force?with you may be. <@^@>

I see shapes and colors all the time in my head.?Many trains passing by, hurtling down the rails (I'm sure I've used this expression before without having to look it up), often multiple ones in parallel. It didn't use to be that way — I used to have one at a time, maybe, but things have changed. It's so very busy sometimes, and it gives me a headache. Although, I would rather there be trains than not, because without travel, how could ideas get from place to place? And the locomotives keep on chugging. I see a lot of small ponds by the train stations, and although the airports and hotels are further from them, I?find them still, and still?very magical… after all these years.
