Moving to a new home…

Posted on: October 27, 2006

and if you're reading this, you've found me. :)

And you may have noticed some things have changed; yet, the scent of watermelon is even fresher in the air.

That's right, I've been WordPressed! I'm excited about what the future holds.

(Maybe on the weekends, I'll have an opportunity to start properly categorizing all the posts I've accumulated since the beginning of this blog.)

This is just Phase I and there's still some heavy stuff I've got to transition over, but I'm really satisfied with what's transpired thus far. In the longterm, I'm optimistic this will be a better blog overall.

I'll explain more over the next stretch of days, but for now, I've got to get some sleep 'cuz I have to get up for work in the morning!

O, before I go, one thing I will explain: this blog is now called "Torley Lives", and this can be read two ways:

  1. I'm alive.
  2. I have lives — plural.

Thanx for reading and I hope you'll journey with me, YAYZERAMA!!!

SUPERFANTASTICO, watermeloney comments are working well too!

A warm welcome aboard. *huggerz Rav*

Aw dangit sorry Marv and Claryssa, I know you guys left comments too but I don't see them now — can you please repost?

I'm going to hunker down time on plugins in days to come — apparently this blog is Gravatar-compliant too! So re: OpenID, just to make sure I get it right!

  3. Claryssa Schmidt Says:

This blog's just as watermelony as the old one, if not more so :D

  4. Torley Says:

More watermelons for all! GREAT, comments workin'!! :D

    Yay!

At last my newsreader recognises your feed properly! :D

Torley! I tried to log into Second Life for the first time today and I was all excited, except it won't get passed the "Verifing Protocol" part and then I tried to log into there and I get the internet explorer "Action Cancelled" thing, as if I'm not connected to the internet - Do you have any idea of what is wrong?

  7. Torley Says:

@Kisa: OMG! REJOICE! I never knew it was brokers before, but this sure is good news.

@Jamie: Aww — do you have a firewall up? That type of error usually happens because of related blockage. You may want to read the guides in the Knowledge Base. I sure hope you can get in!

    @Torley:

Thanks for noting the OpenID comment :-)

Can I also suggest you experiment with the Sandbox Theme — It'd give you a chance to experiment with pure CSS watermelony goodness :-D

Also, now you have WordPress, you may or may not notice the XFN, rel-tag, and other Microformats support built into the platform.

  10. Torley Says:

@Marv: I looked at the Sandbox Theme but it looked too plain a starting base, which is why (in part, at least) I went with Tiga. Something not so bare-bones but easily tweakable, and I'm really happy where I've gotten things.

I'll read more about Microformats, there is just so much to learn!
