Oh my gosh, what I love here is that I was specifically targeting a Don King-style appearance, but all the other names listed are also influences to me.
Enjoyed Max Headroom as 80s cyberpunk.
Carl Sagan continues to cause wonder to this day.
And who can forget David Lynch's Eraserhead, or the incomparable Photoshop guru, Russell Brown?
The Harry Caray reference especially cracked me up, because THAT is one of my fave SNL skits! And yes, I would eat the moon if it were made outta ribs.
Sagan I liked too, although I talked to one person who had him as a prof (my BS is in physics) who said him on Cosmos was nothing like him on a personal level.
@Kara: Guess it's true, that entertainers (even those who are great educators) have a "public face" and do some "acting". Even I have quiet moments! I wonder if your acquaintance felt Sagan's "personal level" was favorable or worse compared to his Cosmos personality.

@Torley: He had a pretty negative impression of Sagan as a prof.
