I'm so fond of recontextualizing media: Pillowgriff Heaven (see original) is one of the cutest places you could possibly hope to visit in Second Life. Situated in Avaria, the home of exponentially prolific avatar-makers Grendel's Children, there are many of these dorble Pillowgriffs, posed in all manner of activities that'd make your toddler grin and giggle.

Unfortunately for that, I happened to be looking at some shocking, devastating photography of humanity at its worst: the ravages of war, some civil, some not, but much of it in gritty, grungy black-and-white imagery. Some of it depicts orphanages that were later bombed or elsewords desecrated, and much of it a sheer exercise in grueling depression.

So, take these two things together, and what do you get?

It's just sad they don't know what's coming!
