Playing the not-a-meme game

2007-04-06

In response to Vint Falken's "Not-a-meme #13: Secrets and confessions", it's my turn to share:

In the Second Life dept., I'm afraid I don't have any juicy tales of betrayal or being a "mean meta-person" (what, me? That's so 1999!) but I do have some alts with funny names. What makes it even funnier is, from a Resident perspective, I had no idea these last names were being introduced, and just snapped up the alts to satisfy my curiosity. Many of you know that music plays a big part in my life — more before than it does now, but nevertheless, that didn't stop me from taking a couple choice names: Music Fan, and… o! The other one I'll give a hint: the last name is "Acropolis", so think which performer goes with that. Another clue: he has a mustache and he's Greek. NO NOT EDGAR FROESE, HE'S GERMAN. Hehehee.

As for my First Life, if I think really hard, my nose may bleed. It used to happen more when I was younger, but I'd like to think I've gained mental ability and focus over the years and not find myself passed out on a desk in a pool… of… blood. It's for this reason I'm a cult fan of movies having to do with telepaths, such as Scanners. Not just because of the scene where the dude's head blows up like a watermelon (altho that is one of my faves!), but because I relate on some level of really heightened mental amplitude. I'm not sure if that has something to do with my Asperger Syndrome, but by now, I'm certainly proud to be unabashedly eccentric. Like I alluded to recently, I've been getting into ways to better train and relax my mind while working + playing. I also have a skewed sense of time, which means what seems incredibly slow for me is often too fast for others.

I now know what "een stokje" means. Thanx Vint!
