Reason #356546098534620.4c why it's fun to play Second Life

Yes, that's right, if you're so inclined (and I am very much of the sort), there is a new Cattle Prod in SL as scripted by Cid Jacobs and modelled by Jacqueline Bancroft (maker of the popular WHACKIES!?). It's one of those collabs between two fun people I'd been hoping to see come true, and sure enough, it has.
On my adventures today, Cid IMed me out of the blue to share the good news, and gave me some promo Cattle Prods to hand out. So, following a lengthy self-test sequence that jolted me from one end of Ravenglass to the other through a window, I buzzed a few friends on my contact list and encouraged them to prod each other. The command is thusly:
prod [someone's name]
so if you want to prod me, all ya have to do after?attaching the Cattle Prod?is:
prod torley
And then a lil' permissions dialog will come up and then the fun can begin. Pictures aren't enough, you've got to see the arc sling out and then the corresponding convulsions for yourself. I made a few hip-skips-and-stops as I tend to, and ended up in Arena at GinkoTech HQ, where I quickly reached out to prod Tren! I hadn't seen her in awhile so consider this an equivalent of a bear-hug as done by a rabbit bunny, except it's more of a high-voltage genuflect. They have a cool scale model set up there reflecting the dream of a move to a private island. —Gave a couple o' prods out to cute Pirate Kitty couple Marle and Aretis Pollack, and they were gracious to share the following newbie-zapping moments with me:
Even Lindens can join in on the prodding fun, as Kona demonstrates:
To get your own Cattle Prod, contact Cid or Jacqueline inworld, or you can IM me for a free "demo" version that works only in the Island Sandbox. You can even kinda get Ghostbusters and have multiple people prod a single avatar simultaneously for that xtra touch of "Don't cross the streams!"-induced excitement. My future suggestions include: an abundance of black smoke to indicate avatar pain + suffering (in a comical way of course!), as well as perhaps different trigger modes and more randomization for reactions.
Happy prodding!
