I was in a quandary today @ work because I was looking at my Project Updates page which is hosted on the official Second Life wiki, and I don't think it's the best tool to put chronological updates, which tend to be better suited for blogs. On the other hand, I don't have a personal Official Linden Blog (nor do they exist yet), and I would go off on all sorts of tangents not related to work anyway. So here you have me, on mine own blog, and while I'm observed to occasionally wear "the Linden hat" here, this is not official.
Just so we have that straight|strait.
Nevertheless, I CAN AND WILL SAY TEAM WINDLIGHT IS SO VERY PROUD OF ALL THE BEAUTIFUL SNAPSHOTTING THAT'S COME OUT OF WINDLIGHT!!!! I am kind of to Second Life photography what The End is to sniping, so *big smile*…
Did you know that since we announced WindLight is back, there've been 2,216 WindLight-related photos on Flickr? Which you can also view as a slideshow. I'm seeing a lot of mindblowing stuff that I've been forwarding to our devs, and they sure are thrilled. That doesn't even count WindLight photos not tagged textually as such (if only visual search was stronger, eh?). If a picture is a 1,000 words, then our Resis surely are writing visual tone poems! This is one of my faves, it's by Ami Beattie:
She says, in two languages:
私を探してくれてありがとう。SLは素人にもきれいな写真が取れて楽しいです。

Ami
Thank you for searching me. I'm very enjoying SL because I can take such good photos even I am begginer.

And really, that's been at the heart of what we've been aiming for, making it incredibly easy to get great results. And we're not done yet, because we've got bugs to squish so even more can enjoy!
And on Snapzilla, they've even got an email address setup to get your WL pics in a "special collection!"
Special thanx from me to Mark Barrett of SLBuzz, who's migrated the site to a new server. My snapshots temporarily weren't showing up there yesterday, but I contacted him, and they're streaming in now, getting crossposted like the sweet madness. Fantastic, fantastic.
I was happy for all the times I did get asked,
"When is WindLight coming out/back?"
, but even happier to hear new questions now, like
"When is WindLight going to be in the main viewer?"
Ah, the followup never stops.
From my weekend wonderings, I also created a new photoset of Tonight Live! with Paisley Beebe when my beloved, Ravenelle Zugzwang, guested. WindLight of course, and I also crashed numerous times (there apparently is a bug!), but it was all worth going through with.
All these moments, the very jubilation of emotional technology.
And what can I say? I'm in awe.

Greylin Fairweather is a grad student at SJSU, I love this video to explain SL to people who don't get it … now if she just added Windlight …

Hello Torley
I surprised you read Japanese languages, can we talk with Japanese next time me met?
Thanks for gave us Windlight again,I'm really loving it.
But I needed your help thats why my Advanced water does not works.
(Sky is working!)
I looked around ton of websites but there is no answer.
Guess my GF(not Girl friend, mean GeFource7600) has any trouble..could you give me any hints please?
Thanks Torley! I love Windlight. It's a wonderful enhancement that makes a huge difference to me.
I've been loving the amount of playspace and control I have over SL shots now. See:

@Amphithetre: Right on, gonna check that out right now.
@Nina: Thanks for all your encouragement thus far, I acknowledge how motivating it is!
@Rocky: Sadly, I don't speak Japanese. I was just copying-and-pasting. It sounds like you may be experiencing this bug: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-925 . Are you on a 7600 Go or desktop 7600?
@Judi: I gotta check that out, thanks for passing it on!
