Send your gorgeous SL water pictures to Wired's contest

Posted on: May 22, 2008

Came across the new Wired.com Photo Contest: Water. Read the rules. Doesn't say photos from virtual environments aren't allowed, so I sent a Second Life snapshot in. I encourage you too, too.

Water in Second Life sure has come a long way: I remember when the new ripple water was introduced in 1.8 by Runitai Linden; kind of funny that it was considered a "minor feature", since you see so much water — and poor water is bound to be an unforgivably-noticed eyesore. Pardon, I'm repeating myself.

Further generations changed, with the most drastic revision being part of the WindLight release package, most noticeable differences being a shimmer + reflections. Now, you can almost taste the cool beverage that comes with sitting out on the docks…

I did it! I also noticed a few others from Second Life who did it too. After seeing the Koinup contest of Windlight pics I know there are a lot more that should be submitted. It just takes a second to submit them. I like the easy submission process.
