Sheet music for "The Games We Played" video game megamix!

2008-10-25

It's been a long road and it's finally here! Thanx to Jonathan Shen & Andy Tran collaborating, the full sheet music of "The Games We Played", my epic performance of many popular video game melodies, is now AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD (OMG CLICK HERE FOR PDF).

I got the good news in the comments, and checked it out — it looks great, but do keep in mind (1) my knowledge of traditional staff notation isn't the bestest, and that (2) my original performance was largely an improvisation. As Jonathan requests:

If you find any mistakes or problems in the sheet music, please, PLEASE send an email to me, at jonathanasdf@hotmail.com, and I will fix the error.

And, if you want to donate to me, my paypal is jonathanasdf@hotmail.com

So if you want to have a rollicking time journeying through a history of game music via rapidly-shifting key & time signatures, cascading arpeggios, and frequent grace notes… be our guest.

Much appreciation again, Jonathan & Andy and everyone who awaited this!

Weeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1st comment!!!!!!!!!!! Gawd with this out of the way…I find life pretty laid back… I kinda wonder what it would be like for someone who goes to my school, prints out the sheet music, then sees my name (And Jon). Imagine his/her reaction. My friend was dissapointed that we didn't charge like five bucks per download…

The thing that sucks the most about transcribing something is that you get zero apprecitation, cuz ppl dun know how time comsuming it is to transcribe…kinda like a movie…You can spend millions of dollars on making one, but if it sucks, no one will appreciate the effort into it. It's all in the peformence. We have put a lot of time into this transcription with the simple goal: having people all over the world be able to play what Torley played. Now, I hope you enjoy playing this medley, because it is perseverence that made all this possible.

cheesy ain't it?

Funny thing is, that at the beginning, I thought I was the one to transcribe it, and holding on to that thought, it took 5 days to get 5 or 6 measures, thanks to perservence.

Looking back, I did get better.

Kinda.

Aw but I'm still lazy. It would have been done last month if I didn't slack off all summer long.

Well, Andy, I appreciate you sharing the story behind the scenes. You kept going, and that's so admirable. :)

Wow… I looked for this 2 years ago, and when I decided to play FFR again, I said, "Hey, maybe someone made sheet music for this already!" Turns out I'm a year late.
