Spontaneity

I used to think things over, very carefully, before I yapped them out. Infact, I thought too much, and got lost behind in conversation. Now, I don't do that anymore?whatever comes to mind, nine times out of 10, I'll blurt it out right away. Why not? I've already done enough thinking about what I want to say. Now I have a lot of catching up to do with all the latent, transient things I wish I'd done in earlier years. It's a gush, like a flood.
Thinking… after awhile… becomes agonizingly slow. When I type out, be it inworld in SL or on the SL Forums, I react. There are times when I'll still stop to ponder some of the deeper issues or drag up a past memory that may come in handy, but most of the time, I simply say what's on my mind, right away. There is no secret to how my thoughtlines work: I lay them all out and would be more than happy to describe them in explicit detail for anyone who cares to listen.
The bulk of what happens here on my blog, of what I scrawl across these pages which are not actually pages, has to do with how I experience the world with my senses. And speaking of senses, I'm still striving to make sense out of so many things. It helps me to share with you, and even if you don't say anything, if you read this sentence, that's good enough for me. What would be even better, without question, comes upon learning that something I've done has helped someone else in a positive way. I know by now through making many connections I'm not alone in my eccentricity, and there's still so much more to discover. As much as I've said, I've listened far more.
Can you hear that? It's the rain pouring again. Just in my head. But I'm having real (and what is that?) hot cocoa. It's getting cold, and this is very warm, so it works out nicely. Mmmm.
Maybe more organization is in order. In the future, I'd like to trawl back through all my past posts, back to #1, and sort them out better. Without changing the last update markers to preserve history. I'm aware this blog has tagging and categorization facilities. However, to employ them retroactively with the current tech is quite slow. Ideally, I'd like to see different iconic bins and be able to drag-and-drop, like paper into boxes. Some "paper" would get meta and split among multiple boxes. But o, what then, what to call the classifications? I've already stated this is a Second Life & techno music blog?far more of the former than the latter since my hearing went bad. What about the finer points? Like, gadgets within SL? Then again, I hesitate, because the way I structure things, it hops from one to another, making so much nonsense that the poles flip and it makes perfect sense… for the senses.
I'll just let this be and let you decide. I'm not good at classifying myself, anyway. I paint with broad strokes but am always tempted to point out the finer details of an artwork objet d'art. I get a kick out of showing insanely funny things to others and asking, "What do you think+feel?" I know when I've met my match.
I like looking at other people's blogs like artworks objets d'art. My own approach is to provide enough hyperlinkage to keep connected, but not so many that a mass of choices confuses the visitor. I like high-contrast colors for easy viewability (my eyes are very sensitive to this), and while I do some light editing post-entry, I don't use a spellchecker. Sometimes, I wonder if the width of the text body is too wide. I tried two gutters and narrowing artificially, but I didn't quite like that. I'm bothered by websites that look as if they were meant to be viewed on 640×480. As mentioned before, I've also enlarged font from 10 pt to 12 pt. Added little trimmings here and there for visual cues?if something looks out of place, it's prolly 'cuz I couldn't edit it on the template.
Another thing: if you're wondering why the lefthand side of my blog looks kind of alien in its tone, you are correct. I was inspired by Japanese sites. I looked at many modern Japanese websites and also found a startling amount of them?at least the ones I checked out?use Times New Roman prominently for English. (Maybe it's the presence of the very word "Roman"?) I was also thinking for awhile to make the musicplayer colorful, but then again, the monochromeyness stands out well against the rest of a very neon watermelony home page.
Sometimes I wish I could add cats, crawling up and down the black part of the gutter below. Maybe they'd be a distraction though. On the other hand, if they didn't consume too much CPU and they looked needy, would you feed them? I could leave a bowl of virtual kitty chow on the other side and you could see how they responded. Purrhaps you could even encourage them to use their paws to literally print out new entries for me, or what's more, signs foretelling our futures.
I'd like that.
