The purest thing about an obsession is that it keeps your memories of what you love alive; you absolutely don't forget. I was humming Tangerine Dream's "Love on a Real Train" (as featured in Risky Business) so much (mostly because I can't whistle) that I decided to improvise some piano variations around it. It turned out beautifully, and you can listen to and download it below, and watch a video which shows — like a 21st-century player piano — which notes I'm banging away at.
If you're wondering what I used to record it, c'est straightforward: ScreenFlow capturing Ableton Live, then a render-to-disk afterwards for the audio-only version. More questions? Ask.

I prefer much much much much more a video of YOU playing!
cheers and great playing, keep posting things like this
Thanks just downloaded your "talents", sounds great. I am new to Tangerine Dream's but no stranger to obsession! Keep the flow of creation up! Peace
This is a *beautiful* piece, Torley! Lots of fun to watch the keys as you play them too.
I've been a fan of TD for a long time, but this is a different direction than their typical synth-driven work.
Keep up the lovely work!
@Diego Okay! I promise more videos in the future! More human.
@Pedro Check out "The Dream Is Always The Same", it's like a companion piece to "LOART".
@Trinity Why thank you! What are your fave TD works?
I got into TD in the mid 80s, right around the time the Underwater Sunlight album came out. "Song of the Whale" was my favorite from the album. I like Exit and Le Parc, and then Optical Race and Lily on the Beach were also good. I liked Alpha Centauri quite a bit too; it was kind of a precursor to some of the ambient music that's being produced today.
They did a number of films around that time, which were also very good: Risky Business (where LOART came from, of course
, The Park is Mine, Legend, and probably a bunch of others.
