Thanks Hamlet; misc. bites of the day
Posted on: October 10, 2004Thank you graciously, Hamlet, for including mah blog in New World Notes. I am honored to be a part of this?fluorishing (as in "fluorescently flourishing")?community, and although it's?only been a few weeks?so far, the future is a big place and who knows what promises it will bring??To that, I say…?Now is the time on Second Life when we dance!
SL is still experiencing TP problems, unfortunately. I'll have to leave my Sim Horror jaunt for another day. I 'ported back to the Welcome Area and was surprised to see the sky to be a quaint mix of the night and the day, but neither or. Waiting for a few minutes helped things rez and settle in. More adventures tonight… I find some of the best stuff happens around 3, 4, 5 AM.

Is autism on the rise??- This is?a really, really well-written article about autism that just came out. I know most of the info contained within, but it's sooo well-summarized that I feel it to be a helpful primer — not to mention time-saver — for those who wish to learn more about autistic conditions. It seems to me that there is no isolated strand as to what causes it or what effects it has, and that it's important to take a proactive AND approach to the issues involved, rather than taking one side and neglecting new developments on another (or another). As it states: nature and nurture,?not any singular root. Looking in the credits, I'm not surprised to see Simon Baron-Cohen mentioned. He is, of course, an authority on the subject.
Katamari for PS2: roll over stuff and get big - What a wacky piece of Japanese art. This is exactly the type of thing that makes me smile, and when I found about it earlier today, I had to post on the Second Life forums and get Eggy Lippman's attention — he is, after all, the undisputed master of the 5,000 prims.
Public Service Announcement - Protect Your Hearing - This goes without saying — well, if you lost your hearing, you couldn't hear it anyway.
I've become a staunch advocate for keeping your ears healthy, after my own went bust. If you expose your ears to loud music and noise at all, this is a MUST-READ.
