I admire a lot of disco music drummers, if only because they're doing their best to emulate the metronomic, slavedriving rhythm that later, actual drum machines would conquer. I enjoy the steady clockwork beats of soulful dance tunes, and I should mention: I don't trust people who don't have a good sense of rhythm. Why? reasons are:

  1. They have poor time management skills.
  2. They're not good at dancing.

*thwack* Read into that however you will, but life's all about timing, on the topic of time…

Via StumbleUpon, I came across the work of Sébastien Chevrel, who's quite the exceptional artist. I first stumbled upon his Spacializer, which intones varying harmonics of the frequency spectrum as you mouseover upon the very disco-like glowing lights. As any incredible artist is wont to do, his home page has a lot more wonderful pieces. Apparently, he's done work on the Space Needle too — class!

In the timelapse (I LOVE TIMELAPSE) dept., Sébastien's got an amazing Road Trip video. It's got no music, so if you play your own soundtrack as it elapses, a unique synthesis of mood and mod will uplift the corners of your lips.

And, don't forget, it may be understated, but Daft Punk apes Space! Can't get more disco than that.
