The Google logo's background isn't pure white

Posted on: October 14, 2006

How, the observations I make during a day: I was craning my head while googling on my MacBook Pro, and much to my surprise, the color behind the omnipresent Google logo in the upper-left corner is noticeably different from — well, the rest of the page.

The image —http://www.google.com/images/nav_logo.png? cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Perturbed, I took the image into a graphics editor, and checked: R = 254, G = 255, B = 252. This explains it.
