They:
- Often cannot relate to humanity, and chalk this up to “cultural differences”.
- Have occupations which are recognizably combinations of our own, such as" “politicomedians”.
- Appear insectoid and have enormous hulls in their starfaring ships, yet are alarmingly cute.
- Get a kick out of trading spices (simply because they watched Dune and Star Wars). They have little practical use for them.
- Hated Starship Troopers but are looking forward to Spore.
- Put the “mental” in incremental.
- Have not separation of church and state, but “states of churches”.
- Need to share resources, or else they will spontaneously self-combust.
- By far and large, do not invent problems.
- Are, by far and large, amoral. At least that’s the closest word I can come up with.
- Do not believe in privacy.
- Can’t sneeze.
- Generate illustrious excitement through sheer apathy.
- Convert bored/useless members of their race into food, either for themselves or livestock. (Which means they are cannibals.)
- Believe there are no such things as abductions, only interstellar foreign exchange programs.
- Never separate “entertainment” from “education”. All fun must be useful.
- Would (generally) rather have strong preferences than none at all.
- Have conversations which translate into utter grammatical nonsense, but are still perfectly comprehensible to us Earthkin.
(The above is speculative fiction.)
