- Snapshots taken at tilted angles (so the horizon isn't perfectly level).
- Vehicles that are available for Residents other than the owner to drive.
- Vendors/stuff for sale using click actions so we don't have to unpack boxes.
- Pose sets for groups of friends.
- Memorable talks where the presenter's avatar moves around the stage (don't just sit/stand there, do something!).
- Marketing for inworld products that get viral attention outside of Second Life.
- More useful templates and workflows shared for content creation.
- Live DJ remix concerts (like Richie Hawtin or BT's, both with their stunning own approaches).
- Senior citizen avatars. A retirement home or two.
- Eccentric, wealthy (not just in L$!) art patrons.
- Blogs focused on cool gadgets (like Engadget and Gizmodo do for 1st-life stuff).
Off the top of my head, of course. All these we can do today, it just takes the right people to put them in action.
If you know exemplary examples of any/all of the above, let me know.

How do you make tilted angles?
As for senior citizens, two of my close friends in SL are well beyond 50 in RL. Their avatars do not relfect their RL biological ages, but their felt ages. My avatar does not reflect my biological age either, it's more my felt age of 28 (unless I feel 16 or 3).
May have something for you soon regarding the viral attention outside sl.
@Peter
Rez a prim, sit on it, rotate it, go Mouselook and take snapshots.
This won't work everywhere because of the need to rez.
Are there other ways to do it, Torley?
Hi Torley,
I have 2 or 3 poseball systems for group shots - I'd need to pop in-world to tell you exactly which ones I have but I know I bought them all over SL Echange using the seach term "Group Photo". Here are two shots from my blog using them:
Friends system: http://headburroantfarm.wordpress.com/2007/12/25/merry-xmas/
Superheroes system: http://headburroantfarm.wordpress.com/2008/03/05/catching-up-with-friends-in-bodega/
Hope this helps
Johan Durant (Motion Merchant) sells a 4 person pose set but I have not used it yet so I don't know how good it is. Doxx Divine (Pura Vida Designs) sells a series of 3 person buddy poses. Feel free to stop by the public photo garden in my profile and find the sphere with the buddy poses (Kali Isle (92.64.24)) to try them out. Enjoy!
/me nods
I have a bumpercar script from a bumpercar (with screechy, sparky noise included) which allows anyone to drive the vehicle you put it in. And yes, I also have the bumpercar itself somewhere.
If you want, I can send you a copy. Are you planning Torleyland Theme Park?
I like the idea of a 'torleyland' ALOT!
But in reflection - If there we're more cars which anyone could drive… I would have sole a LOT of cars as a newb…. I mean… A LOT!!!
*stole
I have party versions of my surfboards, windsurfers, wavejumpers, jetskis um…kiteboards, hanggliders…catamarans and oh yeah whaleriders…at Bora Bora Isle that anyone can use…. I'll send you some…
it would also be nice to have
llSetCameraParams([
CAMERA_TILT, 0.0, // From -180 to 180 Degrees
]);
added to the cam params for better vehicles cameras
Tilted angles:
"Basically, if you don’t want horizon to be horizontal, and want more unorthodox camera movement… go to Joystick Setup, turn off Auto Level checkbox, and set Flycam Roll Scale to 0.05 (it’s 0.00 by default and that sucks)."—Domchi Underwood
(Copied from the SL Blog)
I think SL needs more malls and clubs. NOT!
Thanks for the lovely comments!
Yes, sitting on a prim and tilting it, then going into mouselook is how I've done angled snapshots before; today, we also have the luxury of the flycam with auto-level turned OFF. Still, I haven't seen many pictures done this way. Diagonal lines do convey a sense of motion!
@Peter: I'm in understanding with older folks who want younger avatars because that reflects their inner selves. I wonder where all the young people who want to be wise faster are, tho?
@skribe: Ooh, do tell?
@HeadBurro: Thanks for the links! Fun Christmas shots, kinda reminiscent of Charlie's Angels!
@Ann: Thanks for the pointers; I've seen Johan's before but not Doxx's. Glad to know they're out there.
@Laetizia: I'm not planning a theme park, I just like cool stuff. And on the car note, I haven't found a car I can easily "ghostride the whimp" yet… am I crazy or what!
@Lhynnan: Well, I'm thinking that sure, you could drive the cars away, but they'd eventually get returned to owner.
@Mathieu: Thanks, I've enjoyed some of your creations previously. I think it's great you have this whole surf, sun, and sand athletics theme going!
@Razrcut: Ha, well just like any generic form of thing is subject to a wide variance of quality, there can be excellent "malls" and "clubs" too. I'm convinced we'd see some much stronger, overall compelling clubs if more accomplished builders + scripters teamed up for things like coordinated light shows integrated into the scene. There still seems to be many gaps here!
Maybe not concentrating as much on tilted horizons, but I like to mix up the usual SL photos with ones from odd angles. Above, slightly askew, camera angles it would be pretty hard to do in RL.
Id love to see the forums opened to everyone and only people with payment info on file can post!
Torley I am soooooo with you on group poses!! there are a few getting around now…. i believe Long Awkward Pose & Lost Angels have some good ones ^^
Old age homes hey? I better tell Kaikou Splash that - he is one of the few avs I know that looks old
@Kara: I also like upside-down shots.
@Marni: I think that makes sense; I'd like to see forums searchable via Google. Not sure how technically easy this is to do, currently.
@Newdoll: Thx for the names! *makes a note*
@Dumisani: I really really like his av and what he makes. He's totally a marine-life pioneer in SL.

we're a philosophical discussion group InSl and we have a home here - its quite watery so 'the boss' installed free to use canoes even to non members XD
its still 'in construction' (but TBH it always will be - us philosophers are an indecesive bunch) but its pretty pretty…
@Lhynnan: Kewl, I'll check it out.
Senior avatar is exactly my case. I am 28 in RL and around 50 in SL, based on visual style. You cannot imagine how difficult is to find realistic prim-based beard.
@Shiny: You hit on a market voice there! I haven't really seen prim beards, either. Sounds like a task for sculptie skillfuls to take up!
Tilted angles are easy with the Space Navigator: http://flickr.com/photos/peterstindberg/2641330141/
Group photo … and I'm very proud of it

Absolutely Amazing Second Life Discoveries http://sldiscoveries.wordpress.com/ is good for gadgets … and much silliness.
@Peter: I'm glad you're smart about that! I'm in solidarity with my SpaceNavigator too.
@Seikatsu: The pictures say "Private page"!
@Aimee: One of my new faves. I'm very fond, happy you mentioned it.
@Shiny (Post 22): I currently offer nine styles of (relativcely) realistic prim beards in-world in 72 colors… you might wanna take a look
Strangely enough though, sculpties just sem to complicate things…
@Kallisti: Prim beards? Thanks for speaking up!
