This could be the turning point

I went to bed today unfortunately seeing Mocha in a state of ruin. Where gently sloped hills and flatlands once meandered gently now lay?harsh vertices glaring over the simside.?What happened exactly is yet to be determined, but this was most likely maliciously done by GREEFER KIN. Instead of reporting that land-editing was on to the rightful owner, Sio (Siobhan Taylor), this jackass?– if you'll pardon the strong language — took it upon itself to trash the place.

Several us gathered around while Jack and Nigel Linden arrived to see what was going on and offer their help from positions of respected authority. What happened, in Sio's own words, is detailed here and it's currently ongoing. We're hopeful for a sim rollback to restore things to the way they once beautifully were. One inevitable upside to this virtual vandalization which has very real emotions involved is that it has unified us even stronger. Mocha is a tight-knit community with good people.

If I were more of a GREEFER KIN, I'd frequently blast away people with pushguns. But I'm not, so I'll just have to settle for aiming at the air and inanimate objects — and the occasional persuaded volunteer. This gun-in-progress is quite the marvel, taking up 170-odd prims. It's made by Renee Marshall, and?additional features like a?grenade launcher?are forthcoming. Tapping the "r" key will make it drop clips to reload, complete with corresponding animation. I haven't color-coordinated those cartridges yet, but I have recolored the rest of the weapon to my liking. As I tend to do.

Speaking of guns, Evangeline Suavage has a great thing going. Eva, as I affectionately know her, has assembled a whole theme outfit centered around the Nintendo Entertainment System — and the game Duck Hunt in particular. She has quite a flair for lateral charms, and the NES backpack looks so cute on her too! (On a side note, I always suspected the dog from DH was evil incarnate because of the way?he laughed. Hrmmm.) The bit of the object you can see in the background happens to be a…

Ben-go! It was created by the Linden family's own Ben Linden, maker of that addictive fishing game near the Waterhead TeleHub. I had wondered for quite some time why such an obvious idea as a pogo stick hadn't been done yet in SL. Well, I wonder no more. Again, customization is such a thrill to me, which is why I saw fit to not only recolor the gadget, but replace the bouncy sound and add a particle starshower as well. More information on how you can get your very own Ben-go at the low, low price of 1L$ awaits you.

Talila Liu — Tal to me (what's with three-letter nicknames?), is a precocious creator of the organically mechanical. I've highlighted her SCCIAO before. She can breathe life into cold chrome, which is saying a lot to me. She had me over the other day to show me not only this meteor crash site, but a tower that it crashed through. :) It's currently untextured, and I can only imagine at this point what it will look like when done. Tal, I don't have the landmark to your place, so if you're reading this, please let me know! kthxbye

Speaking of the spacey, Antagonist Protagonist is a Zetan. Her homeworld has an admirable infinity for Chaos Theory, something I can relate to closely. She (this is where pronouns are at their shatterpoint) has come to explore the gridverse as?an emissary, and in the process, started a series of successful casinos, one of them being Chaos Theory Gaming — Tan (100, 200). Again, being a time traveller who has a gambling problem, I can relate.?;)?Her species is mostly peaceful, but when they have to embark on a jaunt of intergalactic?smackdowns, they hold nothing back. In this photo, Taggy is giving me a tour of her mothership. Inspired by the Terran series Enterprise on the exterior but nothing less than alien inside, the walls are embossed in the flavored Zetan script. I had a quick mental flashback to a game I once used to play on archaic Macintosh desktops?by the name of?Marathon. Check Taggy's starship out, far above the clouds — meaning you may need assisted flight scriptage to get up — above the Gibson sim. Lots of other Tyrell Corp. goodness awaits you too!

I close this entry leaving room for future possibilities. And what would life be without them? Many things await us, all of us. In the wee hours, I took the time to refashion myself akin to an anime superheroine while?visiting Ameshin Yossarian and Sythia Veil at their shoppe, Curious Kitties — Mooaleo (101, 218). My extended hair in this picture, as well as the translucent gloves and the dress, came from this place. Ame and Syth are very friendly, warmly greeting visitors to their store in the "flesh"… something that sadly is all?too a rarity in SL! They have a wicked sense of humor, and of course, they make great clothes. I will have to precaution you to check with them to make sure what you're getting is recolorable/moddable, however. =^_^=
