This is why we can have nice things

Part of why I'm so colorful is because I'm of Thai ancestry: this is a stereotype, but a positive one. If you've seen the majestic temples with the saturated gold buddhas, or even humble folk art like umbrellas and handmade paper, color comes in all varieties with the Thai people.

Spotted a rainbow child's hotel over @ the cool hunter. 'Parently, it's called an "ART HOTEL", whatever that is. IF I WAS A BUILDING… From this, I draw several conclusions:

  1. Second Life should have way kewler, detailed interior spaces. I know building can be difficult with the tight cam angles, but I love a good hotel room with character. Occlusion culling (basically: ya don't see it, it's not drawn, thus saving your computer powah) in the forthcoming 1.9.1 gives us all the reason more to really get lavish.

One's good enuff, ain't it?

I've never seen the movie What Dreams May Come apart from snippets, but I believe there should be more environments in SL that represent an artistic atmosphere. Like YOU'VE STEPPED INTO A LIVING PAINTING! Sure, I've seen cellshaded and sketchy schtuff: luv it, would like to see more.

(This was a portion of my motivation for creating free organic textures—IM me for a pack!)

There's a particular scene in Ken Ishii's "Extra"—watch it and you'll know what I mean. Also, other gems like the hybrid Appleseed. I adore when animated characters on what appears to be a flat background start interacting with it in deep (literally) ways. Another fave of mine is Mind Game, which has some explicit and disturbing scenes (depending on your tastes) but is as close to SL: the Movie as I've seen at some parts. It's audaciously colorful, vicariously triumphant, and heck, you can't beat the "living in a whale" sequence.

I wonder if something similar can be crafted in SL.

How's that for a challenge?
