I once, in all my obsessions, had the idea of creating this Second Life avatar who was a composite of various UI components… he'd have a big button for a mouth, check boxes for eyes, and menus (as flexi-prims) would provide his cape and/or cowl. I didn't settle on a name, because "UI man" is way too corny, and plus, he wasn't a man.
But there is a certain bare beauty about laying all the menus — via the "====" tear-off strips — side-by-side and watching it all unfold.
I mean, is there not an exemplary calm to that? It's like these words, laiied in columns, resting adjacent to other pillars, sorted by topic. At the same time, some may see a gloomy sadness: TOO MUCH CHOICE is confusion. Which is why, in all your daily efforts, you'll likely not have all windows open on your screen simultaneously. But, as little-known as it may be, remember you can click the "====" at the top of each one and peel it right off, so some of your fave items are right next to ya.
I continue to take screenshots against a stark background of white, autocropped in Photoshop and then uploaded. I originally came onto this road because Benjamin Linden created the basis for an internal UI catalog so we can, among other things, easily see what our interface looks like, and accumulate history as we go along. I'm just helping, and I like to help.
Plus, it gives me a quicker way to lookup "What menu items are where?" instead of having to fire up the viewer and login each and every time. Bless you Flickr for being more lenient towards screenshots, maybe future generations will see this as art.
Panacea through touching your keyboard + mouse, that's what's good for ya.

Yes, it is a form of art! Especially those square thumbs are great, just taking a bit of a menu. The MOTD one, with only really the Close button readable - exactly how some people look at menus. Don't care what it says, where's the Close button!
Torley since it's almost on the same topic…may I ask ya this?
On the debug menu u just posted on the SL blog…

When I press "Reset to Default" does that reset all my custom settings at once or do I have to reset one by one?
TY:)
Hey, Torley. I was looking through all your UI pictures (as if I don't get enough SL in my life as it is) and saw your estate menu one. I am familiar with the Estate Menus, as I am a manager of my friends sim. But, what sim is "Room 101"? Just curious. I am really interested in how the internals of Linden Lab test, hangout, and destroy random grids, only to do it again.
That land of yours in Coelho - is that where those Jurassic remains are? I love that spot - you could add some trees and benches and make it a cozy hangout
@Daedalus: Reminds me of the apocryphal stories why "OK" button used to be "DoIt", but people misread it as "Dolt".
@Pompo: "Reset to Default" is per-option, so you have to reset one by one.
@Melon: Room 101 is a private Linden region overseen by our Concierge Team.
@Laetizia: I think it's in Brenner… hmm that's a good idea. The dinosaurs were meant to be temporary. Who knows what it might grow into.
