Spurred on by recent events and sharing knowledge, I made an inworld version of this Second Life tip and have been giving it out. Here's the web vers., which is pretty much the same, 'cept it's higher-rez and the last line omits mention of "Click for a free copy…":
It's inspirational like a bookmark, or a prayer card, or something.
Pass it on!

Thanks Torley, that's just brilliant! It'll be very useful for all sorts of events
Torley! I'm sorry this is off topic, but I have a question for you. Is there anyway to animate our avie faces so we can have more than 20 standard facial expressions? This would be enormously helpful for writing and illustrating SL based stories. I'm pessimistic that it's possible, but if it is, I figured you would know! Thanks very much.
Mygdala: No, not at this time.

"11. Facial and Hands morph
Unfortunately, you cannot customize these animations. You can just select the built-in ones …"
This is also evident if you search for it in the SL Forums on Animation, e.g., http://forums.secondlife.com/showthread.php?p=1464754&highlight=face .
Torley … or the other way if you want to just do it temporarily without delving into Debug Settings each time was just to always start your sentence witha '/'
/hey no typing sound or anim now ..
knew i should have read your blogs the other way .. i see you mentioned the differences between '/' and debug menu in an earlier blog … lol
@Al Sonic - thanks. This is what I was afraid of, but I sure hope that there's a future where the possibility can exist.
Al, Mygdala, that is not entirely true. Indeed you can't animate it inworld, but of course you can use external image editing tools to do so. See for example http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=__PO0pDthrE .
I don't know exactly how it's done (with what software), you can ask Osprey Therian how she did that.
Yes, the reason some people don't like to use "/" is manually having to remember that at the start of each line. This Debug Setting frees up that hassle. =o)
Inworld animation limitations also include fingers; some people play a combo of anims to have "hybrid" results, e.g., a cross between a smile and a frown. There are some scripted anims which try to play ALL facial expressions at once, making you look totally freaky.
And, I know some Resis have used CrazyTalk to post-process animate their avatar mouths. I have never used it, it's the sort of thing I'd like to see accurately done in realtime (I love spontaneity that way).
