I had an epiphany a few days ago and I'd like to share it now: while I've never read Herbert's Dune, I know enough key elements from it to be aquiesced with some degree of familiarity.
I figured out watermelon is melange to me. When I consume it, I become (evermore) prescient.
Today was 114 days since my last Snapzilla shot. Rippleshock instructed me that's a lucky number — ONE-FOURTEEN — so I started snapzing again. Observations in the process:
- Dang snapshot bug which continues to limit functionality 'cause no matter what settings you use in the Snapshot Preview window, it'll always send it in the same size, compresion level, etc.
- Bug that was causing a delay from the time you click the "Snapshot" button to the time it gets taken was fixed. Didn't see mention of work being done to fix it, but it's resolved, so I closed the issue.
I signed up for SLBuzz.com, which I'd been hoping to do for awhile. It was really easy. After I found the inworld kiosk, I just clicked — one touch and I was done! Now why can't more registrations be that simple? I'm also sending my snapshots there, and have been checking out the ongoing stream.
- Earlier, Cristiano Midnight mentioned Snapzilla now emails to Flickr, which is excellent. I'm hoping the secondlife:// "teleport here" links from Snapzilla get turned into modern http:// SLurls, and add the Z-coordinate too. I get lost finding some of these great sky builds. And SLurls should be added when emailing to Flickr, so I continue to use Kisa Naumova's sl2flickr for this. Whenever possible, I like to attach coords to my snapshots, so it's easy to check them out inworld, live in 3D.
- So, all that means I set up a text macro to paste in three email addresses in the "To:" line separated by commas everytime I send a piccie via Postcard. Like so: x@slpics.com, pics@slbuzz.com, sl2flickr@eyefood.co.uk. Crafty, eh? I do know it saves me oodles of retyping.

Hey Torley,
First comment, woot. Okay, I'm cheating — SLBuzz has pingbacks implement on almost everything (sort of, it needs some fine tuning).
Glad you like the patent-pending single-click super signup with hyperventilating technology(tm).
Just wanted to point out that http://slbuzz.com/ actually does Flickr crossposting as well! Yay! http://www.flickr.com/photos/79316121@N00/319311766/
It's not using slurl, but http://map.slbuzz.com/ which is simply a pass-through to SLurl at the moment. The plan is to eventually flip the switch and have it be a slurl-like thingy but with more stuffs plotted on the map.
Now someone will just have to come up with a site that broadcasts snapshots automatically to the various snapshot sites out there.
Happy snapshotting!

I think you're more right about watermelon being melange to you than just that one point…after all, "the spice [melange] is life," and I know that, to you, watermelons are life. They give you the "eyes" to see and navigate SL as surely as melange gives Third-Stage Guild Navigators the ability to fold space and navigate through it. Thankfully, watermelons are more abundant than the spice…
Here's hoping we see a "Reverend Mother Torley" avatar soon.
Erbo, you put a lot into words I can't reach — so I'm glad you can bring those gems to me, so that I may see clearer. Hahaha "Thankfully, watermelons are more abundant than the spice…" and I don't have to beat up any big worms to get 'em! I have a sorta nun clothes… haven't worn those yet in public. Hmmm.
Mark, thanx so much for filling me in! Great to know you have Flickr crossposting, and I like what you do with auto-insertion of tags. I'll have to explore this more. Any way the bottom "Posted by…" line can be styled in bold for emphasis? I know Flickr supports basic tags like that. Again, great stuff with the signup, it was just *bang!* easy. Didn't even have to check my email; that made me smile bigtime 'cuz I do that LOTS! Great to see the SLBuzz.com community grow, and thanx also for keeping me updated.
(Dirty's such a great sim name… dirty… heh heh heh.)
You know, that would be an awesome idea for an island sim, if not a whole continent…a Dune-style desert. Not Gorean, but trying to reproduce Herbert's world…sandworms, avatars walking around in stillsuits…
Arrakis…Dune…Desert sims.
Meantime, if you're looking for some Fedaykin to guard your back, let me know. "Long live the fighters!"
Hahaha Erbo, that's great. I've seen some Gorean deserts (presumably same or similar to what you're referring to), and I've seen some sandworms, but never the two put together.
IF YOU WALK WITHOUT RHYTHM… YOU WON'T ATTRACT THE WORM!
