Webcomics in Second Life

I recently came across this award-winning photo on Snapzilla, taken by Alexander Lapointe, showing him talking to Alex Salome. The latter Alex happens to be the Second Life ambassador for the webcomic Patrick Gray, by Ben Stirling. What I especially like is the sheer stylistic audacity and how the 2D panels have emerged with depth inworld. It also has the type of distinctive look that can easily make you go, "Hey, I know who did that!" after being familiarized with the source.

A pioneer in this area is Patch Lamington, known for his sketchy creations. Of course I think the two would get along really well together, if they haven't already, and while I don't know of Patch having a webcomic, I have no doubt he'd excel at it. Heck, he's already got a WordPress blog

Come To You

and so does kaia Ennui, who I came across while Grim Misfit was giving me a tour of Sleepy Hollow today. She, too, has such a unique style, and GingerDead and Friends is her webcomic. Being the multitalent she is, she also makes T-shirt designs in real life and pixelclothes in Second Life under the Nocturnal Threads brand, and you should really read how things came about, in her own words. She also recommends her fave webcomics — the first one I ever read is the still-going Doctor Fun. kaia's also bringing characters from her webcomic into SL as 3D avatars, like Lenoir. It's all one big world to her.
