I'm pretty new in this world (just turned six months!) and of all the information I've managed to find about Second Life, what I've read from you has been some of the most comprehensive, exciting, and inspiring of it all. Shiny is also great for wet-looking hair, ie an underwater sort of thing, and is rarely used outside of that because it makes the hair look wet and clumped, something the textures tend to work against deliberately (clumpiness, that is). But a-ha-hactually I recently grabbed some adorable shiny hair in a japanese mall in Ginza (one of the Metabirds J-Biz oriented areas, ping me if you'd like the LM), made by KissKiss Zemlja.
