Why Second Life really isn't a game!

OK SO FIRST OF ALL THAT TITLE WAS UNSERIOUS

And first of all, yer all familiar with the debate—that's not what concerns me, because I'm hte (intentional) taxi driver of the side alleys!

What's important here is: a lot of computer games I've played, they have preamble music on their intro screen. Often, really kewl loading music. But Second Life has a quiet login screen. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT???!

What I think the Second Life splash screen should look like - BEFORE
BEFORE: Zzz…

Man if it were up to me, I'd have birds and bees and all of Psyra Extraordinaire's creations flying around, or maybe it'd directly log into Second Life via some remote camport shiznit so I can watch what's going on—maybe even preload the last place I logged into for convenience, if it could be a little psychic and hyphy that way. To feel ALIVE. And music would boost it up, make it emotional, give some *oompf* to logging in.

Animate my loading screen, damnit. MAKE THAT EYE-IN-HAND WINK AT MEEEE!

What I think the Second Life splash screen should look like - AFTER
After: YAYZERAMA!!!

(Can you tell I've been drinking Jolt Cola?)

But nah, right now, today, it's quiet. Uncomfortably so. There's a pale sorta picture (I liked the older one in 1.5 and stuff more, when it was a sunset of sorts… way more gradiated and lush, the current one is meh IMGO).

It doesn't make sense at all, given the very vivid secondlife.com pictures we've got featured!

C'mon INJECT THE SPLASH SCREEN WITH ENERGY. It's a *splash* screen, fer cryin' out loud!

What's the point?

Easy—

Pump yourself up: this is the first day of the rest of your Second Life!

Motivate, inspire, insinuate, aggregate the… goodness.

We need kickass theme music. Which completely contradicts why I don't think Second Life is a game, but sometimes, you throw a bunch of words at somethin' and they all fall away and what you're left with is a noddin', throbbin' beat.

The rhythm of life—and Second Life.

  1. Second Life è un MMORPG? « Fantasilandia Says:
