You are not through, you can be special too!
Posted on: March 1, 2005Just when things were about to got boring, they get exciting again (including irregular verb tenses
). Second Life hasn't ceased to surprise me in this regard yet. Rippleshock continues to guide me in various directions, me not knowing the outcomes until I get there — but it all feels so good.
Right now on the artistic island of Montmartre, there's a Dr. Seuss build competition. I stopped by several times to appreciate the whimsical delights of childhood memories held dear. I used to read those books over and over again, revelling in the delight of their innocent joys, something that has never been lost on me. Come by and check out these creations… eat your green eggs & ham while you're at it.
When cultures clash… or something. Stell and I are kickin' back and relaxing, eating the popcorn of our imaginations as we watch the cat show in the Welcome Area. Now, your imagination can fill the rest in. Like the Discovery Channel, but more interactive and the cats are bigger. These are the?avs crafted lovingly by Wynx Whiplash, and it's nice — albeit borderline PG — to see this kind of affection in Ahern. After all, we want to get the impression across that Second Life is a fun, friendly place to be, right? =o)
Tringo . . . Satan's game? I dunno, but this was my best score evar. (Maybe someday I'll make the 300+ league!) It was an exciting round for me — I made several twists and turns after getting off to a rocky start with a messy board. What transpired though, was I was willing to skip a turn and lose 7 points at the end so I could get the right final piece locked into place for a 9-square?30-pointer. It was the type of sacrifice that seemed small at the time but in hindsight, it all comes across as so grand… OH TRINGOOO!
Slave labor comes to SL! Newbies who want to make "free money" are encouraged to visit this sweatshop, the Gnome Factory. The documentation is delicious and the working conditions hard (after all, you're exposed to the windchill factor!). But gruel and grind and you may make a few hard-earned Lindens yet.?If you'd like to be charitable or chuckle at the workers, feel free to donate to the pot or otherwise hang out, chuckling some more. Get gnoming @ Mieto (175, 15) .
What is this? Reuben Linden came to me today with an idea for a fun experiment: stack a sim full of our friends and get them to take snapshots for The Snapzilla Project, sharing their views of the gridverse. What can I say? There's some cliched aphorism I could deploy here… something about pictures and words. I'll say: A GRACIOUS THANKS TO EACH AND EVERYONE?WHO CAME TO?CELEBRATE THE SPIRIT OF SECOND LIFE!!!
