I searched for Crystal Method's "Busy Child" and noticed "Download This Song" buttons to Amazon and iTunes Store. I also looked up copies of this track which weren't on TheCrystalMethod's official channel, and the links were also there. I wonder how it's doing the matching?
YouTube has long been a goldmine for finding music videos and songs in their entirety — albeit often in lo-fi mono and without a real video but a static image, but still listenable, nonetheless.
Lifehacker noticed "YouTube Offering Some Videos for Download".
Looks like this is another sensible step.
What other songs have you found with paid download links?

Very interesting. About their automatic flagging: I'm guessing it's also being used for muting illegal uploads, since I've just now seen a ton of videos showing the same leaked Rihanna song (Like It, leaked this month) but with disabled audio. Literally all of the videos (but one) had audio disabled, so it must be some sort of audio recognition engine similar to the one powering Sony Ericsson's Track ID.
Looks like a US only thing for now based on IP address. I can't get the buttons to show up, even not if I switch the interface to English and region to World.
Yep. US-only. Checked it with a US web proxy site and buttons appeared in a second.
It's a good idea but it doesn't work with spanish ips
I Think they could put these buttons worldwide, not only in US. You can pay via paypal an download your Mp3. don't mind where the server is located
Wasn't aware it might not work the same internationally — thanks for sharing your experiences.
YouTube now enabled the iTunes link in the Netherlands also. Amazon doesn't sell MP3s outside of the US yet so it makes sense that that button isn't being displayed.
